Busuanga Palawan commerce is generally limited to retail establishments. There are (11) general merchandize in the municipality. Five (5) of which are in the poblacion and the rest are in the Panlaitan, an island barangay in the western part of the municipality. Sari-sari stores and small neighborhood stores have a total of 383 scattered in all barangays of the municipality.
Busuanga Palawan public market which is located in the Poblacion is not very functional and is occasionally used as wet market. Bakeshop and bakeries are located only in the Poblacion and barangay Panlaitan. Transient businessman frequents the municipality trading on fresh and dried fish and other marine products. Table 2.3.17 shows the existing commercial establishment in the municipality.
Busuanga Palawan pearl farming is the biggest investment in the municipality. It was pioneered by FINAPI in 1952 and followed by SUMAPI in 1987. At present there are five (5) pearl farming companies in the municipality occupying a total area of about 7,582 hectares.
The widest pearl farm is occupied by SUMAPI with 3,529 hectares. This is followed by ECOFARM with an area of 2,165 hectares. FINAPI and its sister company, CMPI occupies a total area of 480.048 hectares.
Tourism industry in the municipality is still in its infant stage. At present there are 5 established tourism resorts in Busuanga. Three (3) are located in barangay Old Busuanga, and two (2) in barangay bogtong.
